Dear Veterans For Peace Members and Organizers,
Our growth over the past several years, thank you Bush administration, has expanded our membership from 400 to nearly 5,000. We are currently growing at about 100 members per month. One of the results of this fantastic grass roots growth is the challenge to continue serve the members and chapters effectively as we continue to grow. We also have attained a National Voice and International Voice beyond our local voices.
Woody Powell has served us very competently, creatively and with great heart. He has functioned far beyond his original mandate as National Administrator and created the position of Executive Director. He has fulfilled his job way more fully than we can ever really acknowledge or compensate him for. It is his request to "become a volunteer again" to continue serving us, but with more personal freedom, to "cherry pick" his activities to help the VFP Mission and growth while leaving himself time to enjoy his grandchildren.
We have begun a search for a new Executive Director. In keeping with our need to support Woody and our organization, the Executive Search Committee is committed to finding a suitable replacement in the near future.
Attached/below is the official announcement for the position of Executive Director of Veterans For Peace.
Please come forward or put forward any veterans you might feel are qualified or interested.
