BULLDOZERS SHOULD NOT BE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION
International Day of Action Against Caterpillar
April 23rd, 2004
Westlake Park, 4th Avenue and Pine Street downtown Seattle, 11am-1pm
Friday, April 23rd
Join in an international day of action calling for Caterpillar to respect human rights and international law in Palestine by refusing to sell bulldozers to Israel that are specifically designed and used as military weapons against the farms, houses and lives of Palestinians.
The Israeli Army uses Caterpillar bulldozers and excavators to uproot ancient olive groves, depriving Palestinian farmers and their communities of food and livelihood, and to demolish thousands of Palestinian family homes. The impact of bulldozers as weapons hit locally last year, as Olympia peace and justice activist, Rachel Corrie, was crushed to death by a Caterpillar bulldozer driven by an Israeli soldier.
Actions are planned in dozens of cities around the US and around the world. Cindy and Craig Corrie, Rachel's parents, will be participating in the action at Caterpillar corporate headquarters in Peoria, Illinois.
